OTHfans.com News http://www.othfans.com ]]> The Killing Moon Preview Fri, 03 Feb 2012 12:42:18 EST One Tree Hill's creator Mark Schwahn has said that the last 13 episodes "will be dark" compared to the most recent seasons of the CW drama.

The first few minutes of the first episode seem to prove him right. The characters are each thrown into what looks like hell and havoc. There's fighting and crying, a burning building and Haley standing in the morgue over a dead body.

Schwahn wouldn't tell The Hollywood Reporter much about the mystery death. "I will say that we won't end the season with the cast that we start with, and I think for fans of the show, that will be emotional and powerful," he said. "I think in One Tree Hill, rarely is all what it seems, so there's always that to factor in."

So don't expect the final season to simply be a retrospective covering the 187 episode and nine years of the show's existence. Schwahn is purposefully moving the plot forward in big ways, and even bringing back some familiar faces, including Tyler Hilton, who will reprise his role as Chris Keller. And yes, he still talks about himself in third person.

"In a season that could have just been a look back or a pat on the back or something quiet and soft, I just really felt like let's go out being forward thinking and challenging the audience a little bit, said Schwahn, who added that he felt the ninth season is definitely his favorite.

For the past nine years, fans of the locally filmed drama series One Tree Hill have made pilgrimages to the makeshift basketball court in Battleship Park across the river from downtown Wilmington.

Now, the "river court," as it was known on the show, is being torn up.

Crews worked on the court Monday, cutting through the concrete.

The show finished filming its ninth and final season a couple weeks ago, so there was no more use for the court. Fans, however, hoped it would stick around as a memorial to the show they loved. A petition was started but time was not on fans' side.

We've learned that the crews were instructed to cut up small squares of the court that will be sent to Los Angeles. That is all the work being done today. The rest of the court will be taken down at a later date (but soon). I'm guessing that means pieces could be auctioned off, but that's just speculation at this point.

The Rivercourt Gone Wed, 21 Dec 2011 17:13:18 EST

The cast has been tweeting all day and its been a constant refresh on the page going on over here. Its the second to last day of filming for the actors we've all come to love, and for the characters that have made us want a Luke and Nathan in our own lives. Alright, alright. The newest news? The title says it all! Gavin DeGraw and Bevin Price will be heading back to Tree Hill and fans have Sophia Bush and Austin Nichols to thank! Austin tweeted, "Here we are jammin out to Gavin Degraw tonight. Final episode. Pick up his new album now." Sophia added, "...Gavin Degraw is bringing the house down..." Sources also told Zap2it that the cast shot scenes this past weekend and Bevin Prince was in the crowd! Our favorite Bevin Mirskey girl who got away with 'Notebooking' Skills is back!

OTH can't end, it just can't. Will Gavin DeGraw be singing I Don't Wanna Be in the finale? Will Bryan Greenberg return as Jake Jagielski in one of those Peyton I'm back with Jenny scenes? Minus the Hilarie Burton of course. Seriously, season nine can't come here soon enough. Danneel Harris's Rachel won't be coming back but at least we get some Tyler Hilton too!

When The CW finally announced that they were granting the show an abbreviated ninth season, the one cast hold-out remained James Lafferty.

Now, details are emerging about the actor's reduced role. We've confirmed that James Lafferty will be listed as a series regular, just as he always has been. However, TVLine reports that despite the title remaining the same, Lafferty will appear in only about half of the 13 episodes.

Word is that Lafferty's character, Nathan, who is now a full-fledged Fortitude agent, will be traveling abroad for a significant chunk of the season. (Perhaps he'll visit his MIA brother, Luke!) We're hearing that Nate won't be too happy about the return of Dan Scott, or the way Haley seems to have warmed up to him.

That's right, Hill devotees, a show rep tells us that Hilton's onetime bad boy - who hasn't shown his face on the CW sudser since Season 4 - has received an out-of-left-field promotion to full-time status. And The Powers That Be aren't wasting any time getting Chris back in the game: He'll first resurface in the premiere episode, airing at midseason.

Details surrounding Hilton's return are being kept tightly under wraps, but we can say that fans should look forward to hearing lots of tunes from the performer throughout OTH's upcoming run, which has been billed by the network as its "farewell season."

Our prediction: Chris comes back to town for a quick visit, then decides to stick around. (They always do.) He's a changed man. He reconciles with both Nathan and Haley. He performs at Tric. He hooks up with someone. (Maybe Mia?) And they all live happily ever after.

Tyler Hilton Returns As Season Regular Thu, 14 Jul 2011 16:11:00 EDT

Actor/musician Tyler Hilton played coy on Twitter when he posted, "I'm doing something soooo exciting today...but I can't tell u. It's killing me! I hate secrets. But I'll tell u soon. :)"

If there's anything we've learned from "One Tree Hill," though, it's that secrets never stay secret for long. Sources confirm to Zap2it that Hilton is returning to the show as singer/songwriter/homewrecker Chris Keller.

No word yet on how long he'll be visiting Tree Hill for, but we're thrilled to have him back. Keller caused some serious problems for everyone's favorite married teenagers in Seasons 2 and 3. We haven't seen him since a brief appearance in Season 4, when his tour bus happened upon our heroes -- who were, incidentally, in need of a ride to Texas to bail a friend out of jail... and crash a strange prom.

You know, just an average Saturday night.

In Tree Hill time, about 10 years have passed. We're looking forward to finding out how that decade treated Keller. Is he as rich and famous as he thought he should be? Rumor has it, he's back in town help Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) out with Red Bedroom Records since Peyton (Hilarie Burton) remains AWOL.

In addition to playing the town's most lovable douchebag, Hilton has contributed a number of songs to "One Tree Hill's" successful soundtrack albums, including a duet with Galeotti on Ryan Adams' "When The Stars Go Blue" and a memorable cover of John Waite's "Missing You." We're sure to be treated to more of his acoustic charms in the ninth and final season.

]]> Hilarie Burton Mentions OTH Wed, 08 Jun 2011 17:47:44 EDT Star News Online twitter has posted this on this on their page: #OTH fans: @StarNewsOnline has learned production offices will open in June, and filming will start by the middle of July. Story coming soon]]> OTH To Start Filming In July? Thu, 19 May 2011 13:24:08 EDT "One Tree Hill" will be around for a ninth season, activity is beginning to pick up at EUE/Screen Gems Studios' Wilmington campus.

"People have started sticking their heads in the door," Bill Vassar, Screen Gems executive vice president, said Wednesday afternoon. "We've been seeing people with smiles on their faces that they're coming back to work."

Among those are John McIntyre, who has been a crew member with the series all eight seasons.

"I worked full-time on 'One Tree Hill' as an assistant cameraman for the first four years and part-time as a day player the last four years," he said. "Having a series in production anchors the town and gives the crew base here stability.

"I'm relieved and excited to hear of the season 9 pickup. It's been a long-running job in a clean industry that has tremendous economic benefits for North Carolina."

Production offices for "One Tree Hill" will open in June, and filming will start by the middle of July, Vassar said.

The renewal comes amid optimism about the possibility of two other series that shot their pilots here - ABC's "Revenge" and The CW's "Hart of Dixie - continuing to film in this area. Both have been picked up for production, but locations have not been determined.

Local officials have their fingers crossed.

Guy Gaster, production services executive with the N.C. Film Office, said the state's recently enhanced incentive package has played a leading role in putting North Carolina back on the map of the studios.

Sure, after 8 years, it's not exactly cool to still find ourselves glued to our TV screens to watch Nathan, Haley, and Brooke navigate their mid-20s... but we're there anyway. We cried when Brooke got married. We got choked up with nostalgia when Nathan flashbacked to his first kiss. We felt a wild and weird array of emotions when Chad Michael Murray tweeted, "Return to OTH? I don't know. Maybe next season for u guys. I Love that Lucas is missed."

And yes - we may have gotten a little bit crushed-out while we chatted with James Lafferty last week. (Shut up. When we were 16, "One Tree Hill" was the only thing that filled the "Dawson's Creek" shaped void in our lives.)

Lafferty's character, Nathan, is currently balancing his family life (and Baby #2) with a new career... and a shocking discovery. Just before learning that his wife was in labor, Nathan discovered the car that was involved in the hit-and-run accident that nearly killed his son and his wife's best friend... in his professor's garage. Professor Kellerman and the car crash will take center stage in upcoming episodes.

We discussed the car crash plot, Nathan and Haley's relationship, and the possibility of returning for Season 9 with Lafferty. Read on!

They also confirmed that Rob Buckley, Jana Kramer and Lisa Goldstein are locked in as well.

The big question: Would you watch the show if only the cast members above returned?

Sophia Bush And Austin Nichols On For Season 9 Wed, 27 Apr 2011 01:41:23 EDT

"I feel like I've really grown up in Wilmington, [N.C.], but I certainly can't stay there forever. It's like leaving your parents' house: It's got to happen at some point, you've got to graduate," he says.

The transformation of Nathan Scott (Lafferty) from unapologetic jerk to devoted husband and father started with his unexpected relationship with "tutor girl" Haley James (Bethany Joy Galeotti). But it wasn't without its hiccups, which Lafferty says are among his favorite episodes. "When we came back in Season 5, four years later in the characters' lives .... it was an exciting atmosphere not really knowing where my character would go, because he was in such a dark place, and [we didn't know] how the family unit was going to stay together," he says.

Although Tree Hill is known for throwing curve balls at even its strongest couples, Lafferty says Nathan and Haley will weather the remainder of the season. "The audience shouldn't have any doubt that Nathan and Haley are going to [parent] the right way again," he says. "They did it as such a young age with Jamie and learned a lot." While Haley is at home caring for Lydia, Nathan will investigate the hit-and-run accident that almost killed Brooke and Jamie earlier in the season. "Nathan will definitely want to get to the bottom of it and will recruit the help of his friends as well," he says. "Julian feels like he almost lost Brooke that night and Clay will feel a certain professional obligation ... it's going to be messy, for sure, but they're going to have to pursue more information."

With only four episodes remaining in the season, and no word on a renewal, Lafferty says the cast has approached the season finale with the understanding that it may in fact be the series finale. He also thinks that fans will be happy with the ending. "As the actors who have portrayed these characters for so long, this is the way that we always saw it coming together," he says. "The fans will get what they want."

James Lafferty On Possible Cancellation Wed, 27 Apr 2011 01:37:02 EDT

Although Tree Hill has yet to be renewed, the fact that Galeotti has reupped her contract for another season bodes well for the long-running drama's future.

Meanwhile, the series' leading man, James Lafferty, has yet to sign on for another year, but a source close to the situation tells TVLine that should Tree Hill get a pickup, he'd likely return part-time as Nathan.

Also on board for another (potential) cycle: Sophia Bush tweeted Monday night that she and costars Austin Nichols, Robert Buckley, Lisa Goldstein and Jana Kramer have each inked additional one-year deals in hopes of a Season 9, saying, "The writers have GREAT plans!"

Plans that perhaps will benefit from a much wanted encore...? Series alum Chad Michael Murray teased the Twitterverse on Monday with: "Return to OTH? I don"t know. Maybe next season for u guys. I Love that Lucas is missed. Give [series creator] Mark Schwann the credit. He built him."

"So the experiences I had last year of moving to California and traveling to places like Rome and Nicaragua where I met a lot of people just had a really big impact in my life. Gravity Happens came from all of those influences and the song that the album is named for is about how stuff just happens and that it's out of our control and we all learn that as we get older."

Kate Voegele On Her Tour And Season 9 Wed, 27 Apr 2011 01:26:37 EDT

We may not yet know whether or not One Tree Hill will be back for a ninth season in the fall - but we do know we'll be seeing a whole lotta Stephen Colletti if it does! "It's in my contract to do another season," he tells HollywoodLife.com. "I'm in. I'm forced to. No, I'd be excited."

And it sounds like Chase's love triangle with Alex (Jana Kramer) and Mia (Kate Voegele) is still very much in tact this season, even though it seemed pretty clear at Brooke (Sophia Bush) and Julian's (Austin Nichols) wedding reception that he'd chosen Mia.

"Chase is just having a whirlwind with this love triangle," Stephen tells us. "He's not that kind of guy. He's not someone who's a player. He's trying to figure out which way to go. You'll see in the next few weeks, he takes a step back. There will be a resolution. There will be some settling down."
